The New Garage - 2

Well, it's up! They came down from Fife on a very wet day and carried on regardless.....and went away like drowned rats at the end of it! It seems strange with this big building in the middle of what was the lawn; but I'm getting used to it. I've nowhere to hang the washing now - until I get a rotary line. On the plus side, there is a lot less grass to cut in the Spring!

Lots more to do yet, which is up to me. Insulation in the walls and roof which will be sealed in with plywood lining. Wiring for lights and power and floor tiles to be put down. Then the bench and shelving, burglar alarm and racks for all my gear. Then it will be finished!

It is going to be such a nice place to spend time.

Very nice Dave. You must have an armchair and a small solid fuel stove. Knowing you, you'll have all your tools hanging neatly on a board.
Don't forget a carpet on the floor.
To digress a little, we were talking about the way different people open
parcels (presents) and Seamus is just like you were! Walks around it for a couple of hours then carefully snips or unties the fastenings etc. whilst others rip the package apart! Do you remember when we were small, having an easter egg and hiding it for safety under the grill? Someone used the hotplate and melted your egg!
Daft, the things that stick in your mind.

Oh yes, everything will be in its place, Mick! For a while anyway! Don't want to heat it in case it creates humidity - but the insulation I'm currently putting in will take care of things. There are blue floor tiles to go down yet, too.
Do you know what? I still open presents like that!

About Me

My photo
I live happily in Surrey, having left the Scottish Borders to be with my partner, Pam. Being a Gemini I tend to flounder amongst so many interests and passions. Photography, drawing and painting, making music, writing and air guns. I entitled this blog 'Grumpings' simply because it would make a nice spot to have a good old moan about things. However, I hope there will be gentler comments too - a good balance between my grumpy and more reflective moods! And if you want to join in....feel free.
