Our Secret Garden

Having posted those photos of our garden, I feel a little explanation is required. That area, at the bottom of the garden, was impenetrable a year ago. Pam had an incinerator, where she used to burn garden waste in one corner - the rest was taken over by dead trees, Russian vine and huge mounds and holes where foxes had settled in. There was also a shed that was totally overgrown and collapsing beneath fallen trees. We tackled it all with much vigour and energy; but it was such hard work at times. We had huge bonfires to clear all the debris and filled many sacks with logs, for those that had wood burners at home! We got there in the end - the foxes went elsewhere to set up home but still pay us a visit as they pass through, on their way to next door's chicken run!
Now the Secret garden is a peaceful haven with a lovely summer house, two armchairs, a book shelf with our favourite books and a TV running off a 12volt battery.

About Me

My photo
I live happily in Surrey, having left the Scottish Borders to be with my partner, Pam. Being a Gemini I tend to flounder amongst so many interests and passions. Photography, drawing and painting, making music, writing and air guns. I entitled this blog 'Grumpings' simply because it would make a nice spot to have a good old moan about things. However, I hope there will be gentler comments too - a good balance between my grumpy and more reflective moods! And if you want to join in....feel free.
